بیوگرافی - ژاکلینJaklin Bio
She was born in Tehran, Iran, a few minutes before her fraternal twin, Ailen. They grew up in the shadow ýof their famous father, Vigen, who was revolutionizing modern Iranian music with his unique voice and ýstyle. Jaklin inherited both his voice and his pioneering spirit, as she began her own singing career at the ýage of 13, performing in concerts all around Iran throughout her teen years.ý
At 17, Jaklin thought to widen her creative range by writing a song for herself. But through her media ýassociates, the song came to the attention of Googoosh, who wanted to sing the song. Jaklin hesitated to let ýgo of her one song, but realized having Googoosh sing it would be an important career step, so Jaklin gave ýPARANDEH to Googoosh, and set out to see if she could write another for herself.ý
ý400 songs later, Jaklin has become one of the Iranian world's most prolific and eloquent songwriters and ýlyricists. Her gift is matching the material to the singer, and her client list is a veritable "Who's Who" of ýIranian music.ý
For Vigen, she wrote BARMIGARDAM, DAVAT, and MOSAFERAN. For Ebi, she wrote BATO and ýKHOONEH. For Satar, she wrote SHENASNAMEN, GOZASHTEHA, MOSAFER, and HAMSARAM. ýFor Mortazah, she wrote KABAYH.ý
From single songs to full albums, she wrote the SARZAMINEH MAN album for Ando. And she began ýwriting for newcomers, launching the careers of many of today's most popular singers. For two guys with ýlittle more than a dream, she wrote KHASTEGARI, NEGEH, MA HAME IRANI HASTIM, CHI ýMISHOD, LEILA, ESHGHE MAN, EH POR GOHAR, and NAMEH BEH MARZ, thus launching the ýcareers of Andy and Kouros as a singing duo.ý
For Shahram Solati, she wrote the enchanting KAVIR, ALI, and ALMAS, and for his sister, Shoreh Solati, ýshe wrote AREH ASHEGHAM, DEL NEGAROUN, TAB, SALEH DO HEZAR, and CSI TA BAHAR. ýSongs for Shahram Shabpareh, Mahasti, Leila Forouhar, Shakila, Martik, Siavash, Susan Roshan, Black ýCats, Omid, and Farrokh too numerous to mention continue the list.ý
Jaklin's unique style of writing songs and lyrics comes from a most profound love of Iran, the Farsi ýlanguage, and her own fundamental love of life. She writes with passion and poise, she writes about ýuniversal feelings we all know but can't always express, and she writes about Iran, where her heart still ýlives. It's been 25 years since she's been home. She came to America just for a visit, to see her father, and ýshe attended schools in America to further her education during her visit. ý
When she was 13, in Tehran, Jaklin had a dream of meeting her future husband, a man she didn't know, a ýman with light eyes, an American. 12 years later, on her trip to America, she met that man, and has been ýhappily married now for over 20 years. William Munns, her husband, is an artist, sculptor, and creative ýdesigner of visual effects for the motion picture industry. He is also a man who understands the soul of an ýartist, and knows how creative talent must be nurtured and supported. He saw her emerging genius for ýmusic and poetry from the beginning, and has been the most devoted supporter of her work.ý
Jaklin's family continue to inspire and affect her creative soul. As she grows as an artist, she continually ýappreciates more and more how her father, Vigen, literally re-defined the musical landscape. Her mother, ýOlia, gave her profound insight into the heart and soul. Her uncle, Karo, remains a tremendous inspiration ýas a poet. Her sisters, Alien and Katrin, continue to keep her grounded in the love of family.ý
But in the larger sense, Jaklin's family are the people of the world who speak Farsi and share her love of ýIran. Recently Jaklin has set up an e-mail service to communicate directly with her global family, and ýwarmly invites one and all to write to her at Jaklin@prodigy.net ý
With this new album, Jaklin returns to her roots, as a singer. And she is expanding her expressions of poetry as well.
